Ali Jaffal, Abdul Jaffal, Abdallah Jaffal, Mohamed Jaffal, Abass Antar, Naif Antar and Hassan Jaffal, all Lebanese nationals in Sierra Leone, have made their eighth appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2.
They are accused of wounding their fellow Adam Hamdam.
The accused were standing trial before the court on seven count charges ranging from wounding, assault, affray, for throwing missiles and causing disorderly behavior.
The indictment states that the accused on Saturday 6th April 2024, at the Young Sports Club YSC facility Wilkinson Road in Freetown, they plotted and maliciously wounded Adam Hamdan and Mohamed Aroune, according to the court details.
The charge sheet further states that the group of accused also assaulted Adam Hamdan and Mohamed Aroune.
And so they were found for fighting with intent to put the general public in that community into fear.
The charge further states that the accused were also found to be throwing stones, sticks putting the community into fear and so were found to be behaving in an disorderly manner.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty of the offences against them on their first appearance in court.
The State prosecutor was Yusif Isaac Sesay Esq.
The lead prosecution witness number (9) Abass Kazam says he resides at Scan Drive Freetown.
He is a diplomat and a business man. He said he is a consul of Guinea-Bissau to Sierra Leone.
He said could rrecognize all the accused persons as he recalled on the 5th April 2024 of something that transferred between her and the accused persons.
He said he received a telephone call from his friend Hassan who was at YSC entertainer center.
He then called the first accused and informed him that he was told that his brother the second accused was involved in a fight at YSC.
After thirty minutes, they arrived at YSC where he found a lot of people running there and there.
He entered the complex and went to the basketball field.
At the field there was a serious confusion going on but there was no fighting happening.
Minutes after or so he was going towards the gate when he saw the arrival of police officers including the LUC for Lumley who is Mr. Mohamed Turay.
The police officers asked him to identify those involved in the fight to handover themselves.
Magistrate Bangura adjourned the matter to 27th November 2024 and bail continues for the accused persons.
