On Thursday 24th October 2024, Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara talked on the various national issues which are serving as deterrent for the development of the country.
The Opposition Chief Whip continues to enlighten the general public about the MCC Compact which has become one of the most topical issues in the country.
He narrated that the compact only focuses on power transmission and distribution without taking into cognizance on the aspect of energy generation.
In addition, he emphasized on the developments of the country that the MCC Compact fund disbursement is seeking to strengthen.
Additionally, he maintained that in the last three consecutive years, the government diluted the minds of those who are in charged of the MCC compact.
It is believed that enough energy has been generated.
And the only unresolved issue is the transmission and distribution of the energy.
On this theadministrators for the compact implementation should direct the funds to be expended.
He noted that the government failed to prioritize the Bumbuna Phase Two to be the most reliable and affordable energy generation entity for the country.
But instead they recognize the Karpowership by a Turkish company which is very expensive and is said to be providing unreliable and unstable energy services to the public.

And irrespective of these conditions unmet, he said, the APC party is resilient to ensure that all the acquiescence are implemented the letter.
Opposition Chief refuted Chief Minister- Dr. David Sengeh.
He referred to Sengeh earlier comments as misleading statements. The Chief Minister was heard assuring that the issues of Parliamentarians and Councillors had been amicably addressed by the government.
Also that the Chief minister had claimed that APC party failed to submit a comprehensive list of all their party members being imprisoned.
Again, he buttressed that as a responsible political party they have met with the Moral Guarantors for their swift intervention as the government is playing double-standard role to implement the recommendations.
Opposition Chief stated that he was disappointed with the Chief Minister who was all over the country preaching the slogan: “Radical Inclusion.”
