Prior to President Julius Maada Bio’s emphasis on the need to develop and strengthen human capital development to reduce illiteracy and forester citizens participation through knowledge sharing in national development, a lot of indigenes in various provincial towns, chiefdoms and districts have taken the challenge to assist in the implementation process, at Samu Chiefdom in the Kambia District North West Region, the President of the Samu United organization Mr. Mohamed Kolleh Kamara said, Samu Chiefdom has more than thirty thousand adults and a high number of children. He said their organization is to cater for parents to send their children to school and leave them with the option to choose either the world of academia became career orientated, he said, since their organization was established in 2016 and officially registered in January 2020, they have embarked on a maximum sensitization engagements which have seen drastic increase in school going children.
He said from the minimal contributions raised, they also assist descendants of the Chiefdom to support their learning in higher institution. He said they provide for women few token to involve in business undertakings. He said they are also committed to support members financially in the areas of marriage, baptisms, ill health and engage with them to take self’s reliance initiatives as guideline for a prosperous future. He said Samu Chiefdom has produced many outstanding citizens who are yet to respond to the needs of their people. He said Samu Chiefdom has an advantageous topography for all forms of agricultural potentiality yet to be address. He said in the area of infrastructure, Samu Chiefdom is deprived of better roads and access to the nearest market by farmers is extremely difficult as few vehicles with expensive fares ply the route. He said the organization is anxiously seeking for philanthropist to assist in their difficulties. He said the organization efforts is now a household name as many rely on them to save their lives in the area of socio-economic benefits life.
