As a true patriot, it always pains me when I see my fellow countrymen suffer innocently with little or no help from those who can afford to do so.
In fact, unlike Bra Parrot who always advocates for others in difficult situation, other people normally find pleasure to see the poor in more vulnerable position running after them, begging them for their daily survival.
Such is the situation my people in Yenga village, Kailahun district have found themselves. Their village and entire farmlands have been forcefully occupied by Guinean troops who have continued to harass, intimidate and victimize them.
Parrot has gathered that the unbearable situation has forced the poor people to flee leaving behind all their properties.
When Parrot travelled to Kailahun, Koindu to be precise in an attempt to visit the disputed Yenga village, what he saw on arrival in Koindu made him become dumbfounded.
Some of the displaced people the bird saw were housed in makeshift structures in harrowing condition, looking frightened and hungry.
Listening to the horrific tales about how the Guinean troops used to treat them, tears rained from Bra Parrot’s eyes thinking when they will return to their village soon.
At the time the Parrot was in Koindu, he observed that the displaced people were in desperate need of relief aid especially clothing, medicines, and cooking utensils as they did not carry with them anything when they were fleeing.
Like any other citizen, Yenga people deserve equal opportunity including education for their children, health and other facilities as they are not only citizens but equally contributing to this nation’s development.
So, please let help our brothers and sisters in whatever way we can. Thank you all in advance for your assistance, I mean those who have assisted.
