It seems as if the history that defines us as Sierra Leoneans is starting to crack and crumble, setting us on a path towards a real concrete jungle of disunity precipitated by a few disgruntled people from the other side of the aisle, as they have made the past five years toxic simply because they have refused to watch the clock, do what it does and keep moving forward.

For decades our country was defined by its turbulent history and it has gone through numerous crisis due to  its political collapse that was not created by nature but by human deficiency and the lack of patriotism but greed and showmanship.

What have we learnt from our history that defines us as a sovereign nation?

Did the dialogue of appeasement with the Opposition All Peoples Congress Party (APC) bring any peaceful solutions to our democracy as it was envisioned?

The Grand Old Party, popularly known as the APC, has unfortunately been metastasized into a facist political and protracted military alliance pondering how to usurp power from the people and by the people by all possible means necessary as witnessed over the weekend.

The Capital City of Freetown was set ablaze and descended into a violent hells cape, and by thunderous sounds of gun fire and explosions interrupting citizens from their peaceful slumber on holy Sunday of November 26th,2023.

High thinking Sierra Leoneans could sense this mayhem miles away just after the concluded election defeat of the Opposition APC Party who till now never never acknowledge or endorse the election outcome, but busy debunking information and instigating unrest in the country.

This was an expected defeat they have yet to acknowledge and endorse.

This defeat of their party as predicted and decided by the oracles has not gone well with them and they, the APC disgruntled members have taken up upon themselves to destabilize the country with violence and with the intention of overthrowing a democratically elected government of President Bio and nevertheless to say he has for the past five years cowardly and timidly succumbed to all their irresponsible demands in the name of peace but what peace?

The APC Party’s misguided military Adventism of a regime changed as a solution to their intractable problems has woefully failed, and exposed their arrogance and absolute greed for power as the citizens of Sierra Leone are watching in awe and amazement of the party’s inability to steer away from indiscipline and violence.

Their eccentricity has set up the reality that, there is nothing certain about the behavior of the Red Warriors when they are in the cockpits of an opposition.

President Julius Maada Bio who is being trapped in a pincer state of either satisfying his party members , the people of Sierra Leone who elected him or trying to maintain his diplomatic legacy with the hostile Opposition APC Party so as to save his dialogue deal.

These are some of the reasons that makes the President ill – equipped to take any robust and drastic steps against the APC Party, but forgetting the fact that, he is joking with his political sworn enemies.

Their Military tactical disaster will always be on the horizon as showed both in the uprising of the August 10 and November 26th, mutiny in Freetown.

The agony of the presidency of Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio is its soft- handedness of the security issues in the country that has proven his Talk & Do agenda to Talk & Do Nothing because his aim and priority is to please his political foes and succumb to the demands of the so called International Communities, who are conspicuously and conniving with the Opposition APC Party.

The dialogue truce between the ruling New Direction Government, and the opposition All People’s Congress Party is nothing but a facade and a disaster for the Country,  as it allowed  the APC to re-group for a coup d’etat which will ultimately

impede the Peace and freedom of a  country that is being perceived by all peace loving citizens .

Indeed the peace dialogue has become useless and meaningless.

A costly political policy aimed at a time wasting and resources which the president used to appease the APC Party and merely fueled the sentiment of fire and power control.

These attack on democracy bore the hallmarks of the Red Warriors who have  been engaging and whipping up  their frenzy Social media rants by urging their gullible supporters to rise up and join their revolution of deceit.

This act by the APC Party has been exemplified by their eminent threats that  have  posed insecurity in the country, and I think the people of Sierra Leone will now urge their President to put an end to complacency towards the opposition party but will he ?.

This is  now the opportune   time for President Bio to heed the Clarion call of the patriotic minded Sierra Leoneans who have been calling on him to be careful and robust, take security matters of the country more seriously, and stop taking the opposition APC Party as a harmless group of conspirators and anarchist, but as a political foe and distractors.

President Julius Maada Bio should have learnt his lesson from the August 10 uprising when the very APC Party instigated its hoodlums to commit mayhem on the life of innocent citizens and service men of the state.

The president of the Republic should fully know that, he has an obligation towards the people of Sierra Leone. But it seems his establishment seems unable to allay the lingering concerns about the wider impact of the life and property of the citizens of Sierra Leone.

It is frustrating and heartbreaking to see President Bio being complacent over the security of the state while the Opposition APC Party emboldened its stand of destruction and instability.

The politics of appeasement and dialogue by President Bio has woefully failed and backfired from day one and it is now a complete backlash, and a mockery to his foe and scorn by his supporters who have been let down by his policies of appeasement and aggrandizement.

This latest insurrection by members of the APC party is a clear indication that President Bio is not taken seriously by the opposition and neither is he regarded as a legitimate president.

The one million question now is : Who do you blame, the man bent on pleasing his foes and the international community or the Party determined to seize power through violence?

There is pessimism that, there is more of an attempted usurping by the Opposition party as long as President Bio is in governance. His politics of appeasement and Soft- handedness would deliver our country to chaos, lawlessness, and violence which the people of Sierra Leone will suffer and pay the price because of his sole negligence.

How long do Sierra Leoneans have to wait for the perfect solutions from their President? For the past five years,   Sierra Leoneans have witnessed horrible crimes, lawlessness, insurrections,and an atmosphere of violence and corruption that has stained the President’s image and a legacy that will not be easy to erase or  to forget as we all will be haunted by the vision of a sad reality and era.

This action by the mutineers and their sympathisers is not an empty threat to destabilise our country but rather an attempt to destroy any hopes of progress and take  the country back to where they left it.

They have a plausible plan to do whatever they could to threaten our nascent democracy because of President Bio’s nervousness about embracing a drastic and robust stance towards the Red Warriors which is quite evident.

Within members of the ruling SLPP party members, the president’s reluctance in taking punitive measures against the Opposition APC Party anarchist remains a divisive subject or a silent whisper.

President Bio should be aware that our country was in  tranquility when he took the reins of power. The situation we are witnessing today is because of him becoming the president which the opposition APC Party wants to diverge and usurp power with a regime change against the democratic wishes of the people of Sierra Leone.

With all the clear evidence in the hands of the president, the big question now is, why is president  Bio peddling the guilty myth of the Opposition APC Party?

All his diplomatic cornerstone with the  APC Party has been exhausted and failed miserably , exposing their deepest distrust and dislikes of his weakness with an open wish to see him gone through the barrel of the gun bringing along with them another plausible civil unrest. Is this going to be an existential unrest in Sierra Leone?.

The Opposition APC Party has made two blueprints to usurp power but failed. President Julius Maada Bio must beware of the third attempt and stop applying political code of ethics of silence to potential state issues.

President Bio is so meek to a fault with the Opposition Party that, he has consistently allowed them to pile pressure on him which he is fully aware of.

He quite fully knows that, they don’t cherish any moment of him being the head of state of the Republic,  they don’t love him neither do they recognize him as a statesman and their president.

They have intentionally refused to endorse his legitimacy since his victorious election Victory of 2018 election conducted by them.

This is a poisonous polemic in the politics of Sierra Leone which president Bio has intentionally or intentionally creating for himself and by himself.

But one thing I can say for sure and with certainty is that, whatever truce or appeasement President Bio engages with the Opposition APC Party, that appeasement is a ray of thin hope with a painful negotiation that could never be fulfilled by the APC Party.

A hope with callous and darkness, and with its final form of revenge that will face another rebellious attempt on his life and his establishment if he strays again.

I know how the president is loved by his people, and how his party looms large in the people’s imaginations and their sense of identity

But President Bio and his establishment needs to be alert and robust and his closest allies and advisers must be honest to tell him the truth , the whole truth and nothing but the truth if they saw him going in  the opposite and wrong direction.
