After a long break, the Twenty-three-year-old defensive midfielder, Abdul Jarju Kabia, has revealed to his fans and followers that he is happy to return to Leone Stars after a match suspension.
Kabia played his professional football for Hapoel Kfar Saba FC in Israel as a defensive midfielder, and he made his debut for Sierra Leone in their goalless draw against Ethiopia in the FIFA 2026 World Cup Qualifier Match- Day One in Morocco.
In Liberia, Jarju was shown a red card during Sierra Leone’s 2-0 loss against the Pharaohs of Egypt. He is now among Coach Amidu Karim’s 23-man squad selected for the double-header and has been training with the team ever since.
The young defender was expected to pair up with debutant goal scorer Curtis Davies to seal the Leone Stars defence against Burkina Faso on Monday at the March 26 Stadium in Bamako, Mali.
Sierra Leone has recently picked up their first 3 points win in the qualifiers in midweek and with Djibouti defeating them 2-1 as the two nations squared off at the Stade El Abdi.
Meanwhile, the leading inside opening came in the 12 minute as courtesy of Curtis Davies while Gabriel Dadzie converted his 35th-minute penalty to give Djibouti a draw but Sierra Leone’s Augustus Kargbo netted six minutes into the second half to hand the hosts a much-needed victory.
Of recent, Burkina Faso were denied consecutive wins in the World Cup qualifiers as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against seven-time African champions Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium on Thursday.
