Twenty-five-years-old Augustine Dass amazing who is a masoner, has been sentenced to 36 months in prison.
He is to go to the male correctional centre, and was charged by magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon of Pademba road court No.5 in Freetown.
He stood on counting fraudulent conversion as contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday the 9th November 2024 at Leicester in Freetown, the accused fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property.
The properties are two L.G air conditioners, one indoor air conditioner, one 10000 watts stabilizer, a money counting machine and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of sixty five thousand three hundred and twenty five Leones(65,325) which was entrusted to him by Jane Bewoh for the purpose of safe keeping.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Sergeant 5598 Santigie Koroma told the Magistrate that there was no previous criminal records against the accused person.
The accused person was not legally represented and he pleaded with the magistrate to temper justice with mercy.
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person and he didn’t waste the court time and so magistrate Kallon sentenced him to thirty six months imprisonment to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
