The Wise Bird will never be comfortable with the way the June 24, 2023 election was conducted by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone.

After all the accusations and counter-accusations, made against the Commission, the Commission tried to clear its name by calling out a press conference.

According to the Wise Bird, the press conference was just a way to continue fooling the people of this country after ECSL had allegedly rigged the election.

The dead, and the un-born not even to talk of the living saw what happened before, during and after the election.

At the press conference, the Chief Commissioner Mohamed K. Konneh had been acting continuously defensive by way of accusing certain stakeholders of sponsoring members of the international community.

In making a defense case at the press conference, the Chief Commissioner Mhamed K. Konneh, boldly said the APC party had failed to accept the June 24, 2023 polls, which the party had labeled as widely marred by electoral fraud, massive rigging and not transparent.

Mr. Konneh is believed to have said that, Dr. Samura Kamara of the APC party was and is still sponsoring all international observers to be on his side.

Mr. Konneh further told journalists that, a total of 2,789.808 registered and turned-out to vote on June 23, 2023.

From his explanation, he said, 52.88% were females and 47.12% of the males voted.

He went further to say that, all what he did was in fulfillment of section 32(12) of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone.

He, however, cited section 92 of the Public Election Act (PEA) of 2022, that it does require the Commission to produce disaggregated polling station results.

There was no over voting identified throughout all the polling stations nationwide, he told journalists.

The Wise Bird noticed that, Mr. Konneh shamefully has been deceiving himself and the people of Sierra Leone and the entire Commission by saying that the Commission has been very co-operating with the Tripartite Committee. It’s never the case.

Before this time, the Tripartite Committee had been complaining bitterly about the lack of cooperation on the side of ECSL.

The Wise Bird went out as usual to sound the views of the people in respect of the press conference called by ECSL, and all those the bird spoke to had expressed disappointments over the conduct of the June 24, 2023 election and the unnecessary defense tactics made by the Chief Commissioner.

Others have said that, Mohamed K. Konneh is responsible for all the mess in the country in the name of protecting his Bo school-mate.

Mr. Mohamed K. Konneh came on a mission and he has accomplished his mission by way of rigging, allegedly, the election.
