The Wise Bird is not a Saint to be described as such but the people have so much respect for him as they believe in him because he has never told lies to the people.

Since the bird is not an arm chair investigator, he moves from place to place to get firsthand information on issues of national interests.

The most respected animal was around the East end part of the capital Freetown to gather correct and accurate news on daily happenings.

The bird was at a famous parking space called “Texaco parking ground” where the bird overheard people talking about the election of June 2023, so the bird went closer and closer to get more information on the discussion.

As the discussion progresses, few other people joined the discussion and later identified themselves as members of the Motor Drivers Union; the discussion became sweeter and sweeter to the happiness of brave bird.

The members of the Union were very angry as they grumbled bitterly to the bird, complaining about how the Union’s election has been polarized by politicians.

Upon hearing such a statement, the bird again went closer and closer to the office of the Union to get firsthand information on the issue of the Union’s election.

According to what the bird gathered from some members was that, the Union’s election is said to be long overdue. It was because some aggrieved members went to the High Court seeking a redress why date of the election had to be shifted.

After some legal battle in court, the High Court Ordered that, the election is to go ahead.

However, the Motto Drivers’ Union election was slated for the 1^st October 2024, but just a day to the election; a letter allegedly from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) put a hold on the election, and everybody amazed again.

What beats the imagination of some members of the Union was to learn that the Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police had put on hold High Court Orders as alleged.

The question the Wise Bird wants to ask is that, whose authority supersedes who; the High Court Orders or that of the Inspector General of Police?

According to more information, the Inspector General of Police, the Minister of Labour and  the Minister of Internal Affairs are deeply interfering into the Motor Drivers’ election as alleged.

The Wise Bird went out to sound the views of people in respect of the Drivers’ Union Election; all those the bird contacted have mixed reaction on the issue, to some the alleged action by the three government official is not a surprise; they can do more than that.

For the Inspector General of Police to allegedly defy High Court Orders is a child’s game, said the people the bird was speaking to.
