Bra Parrot flies the length and breadth of the country to get first-hand information about daily happenings in and around the city.
The brave bird flies from town to town, village to village, office to office and from institution to institution to know about daily happenings especially when elections are drawing closer.
Bra Parrot was at the High Court building yesterday when Justice Hannah Bonnie slammed an interim injunction restraining the ITGC of the main opposition APC from holding their National Delegates Conference slated for 17th ,18th and 19th February 2023.
Bra Parrot is not making a case for anybody or a group of people, the law is always the law and the law has no iota of respect for anybody or a group of people.
The brave bird starts to think about past events and came to the conclusion that this is not the first time a court has slammed an injunction on the main opposition All People’s Congress APC Party.
This is the second time a precedent of such kind is happening to the APC.
The first was when the APC was about to passed into law its new constitution, after all preparations had been put in place, when the High Court slammed an injunction restraining the party not to do anything relating to the party’s constitution.
Bra Parrot quickly flew to Makeni to view the political atmosphere, but to the dismay of the brave bird, a lot of people the brave bird spoke to expressed dissatisfaction over the High Court’s action.
Bra Parrot tried to talk to one of the stakeholders of the APC, what the person said was that the law is the law and they have respect for the High Court and it decision as a democratic political party.
However, Bra Parrot saw a letter dated 16th February, 2023 signed by the Chairman of ITGC, Alfred Peter Conteh informing supporters and sympathizers for a new date for the National Delegate Convention.
Bra Parrot went to the APC Headquarters to get the views of supporters on the issue.
Bra Parrot overheard a group of people saying the injunction slammed by the High Court is a political game planned by the ruling SLPP government.
Bar parrot did not stop at that, the brave bird visited a good number of offices to also get the daily views of the people.
On its way back to the cotton tree at its usual sitting place, Bra Parrot overheard supporters of the SLPP saying “we will teach them a lesson.” How did the brave Bra Parrot know that those talking were SLPP, because they were wearing green which is the SLPP party colour.
Bra Parrot went to the government book-shop to get the Act of the Political Party Regulation Commission (PPRC) to know what the Act says, but unfortunately the Act was not found.
Bra Parrot went quickly back to its usual sitting place which is the Freetown cotton tree.
