However, amidst the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the launch of this new membership drive, there are also some lingering questions and concerns within the party.
Hon Lahai Marah, the APC party chairman of Falaba District, has raised critical questions about the availability of the June 24, 2023 elections results, as he wondered where the results are and who is to be blamed for any discrepancies for the current political ambiances of the state.
One key figure in this debate is Samura Kamara, the 2023 APC Flagbearer, who has been vocal in blaming the national party executive for any shortcomings in the election results, according to members’ views.
In response, the national executive defended themselves, believing that the tripartite committee had also accused Samura Kamara of playing a role in the alleged discrepancies.
The accusations and counter-accusations among these key players in the APC have created a cloud of uncertainty and confusion, casting a dark shadow about the party’s electoral process and integrity.
The lack of clarity and transparency in the handling of the election results has raised concerns about the party’s commitment to working to achieve electoral justice and fairness.
In conclusion, it is clear that there are deep-seated issues and divisions within the APC needed to be addressed in order for the party to move forward and rebuild trust among party members and supporters.
“The successful launch of the new membership registration and data verification is a positive step towards strengthening the party, but it is essential that these internal challenges are resolved in a united transparent and accountable manner, ” members believe.
Only then, seriousness in the registration and calls for unity, can the APC regain its rightful place as a strong and united political force in the political arena of Sierra Leone.
