This medium has been informed that some hundreds of Sierra Leoneans are reportedly being trapped in the Asia-Arab nation Lebanon.
They have persistently called on Sierra Leone Government and International Organization for Migration (IOM) to urgently repatriate them from Lebanon to home country Sierra Leone.
Many emigrants there are help up in the Asia-Arab country due to the war between Israel and Lebanon.
They now fear missiles and bombings coming from Israel.
An activist Sieh Daniel Sesay called for urgent evacuation of Sierra Leonean citizens living in Beirut, Lebanon.
In his letter written to government authorities in Freetown, Sieh Daniel Sesay said, this letter with an urgent plea on behalf of his beloved Sierra Leonean sisters and brothers who are currently being caged in fear due to the ongoing conflict between Lebanon and Israel.
According to Sieh Daniel Sesay the escalating violence has created an extremely dangerous atmosphere, with the lives of Sierra Leoneans at grave risk.
“We trust in your commitment to ensure our safety and well-being all as Sierra Leoneans. We are stranded in a volatile and life-threatening situation, with limited access to resources and no safe way out of the country.”
He said he humbly and urgently appeal to government to organize a rescue flight to evacuate them from a country becoming a war zone.
“We cannot afford to wait while the conflict still intensifies,” Sesay said.
