Rumors, they say, have some amount of truth depending upon where they come from. So, if the above statement is true, then the wise bird has been reliably informed that the two heavy weights in the All People’s Congress (APC) party, the erstwhile Vice President Alhaji Sam Sumana and the two time former flag bearer, Dr. Wilson Samura Kamara are contemplating to join forces together if what some party members said are issues surrounding certain members are not addressed.
As for Chief Sam Sumana, Bra Parrot has gathered that he is still battling to normalize his status in the party, given that the revised party constitution made several amendments, which, if strictly stick to will disqualify some senior member including him.
But other sources have told the bird that the matter has long been addressed by the party National Advisory Committee (NAC), information the Parrot is yet to independently verify for his long standing undisputed credibility.
This situation of the party saying it has addressed or not address the Chief’s matter has really confused Parrot as to who is actually saying the truth.
The APC faithful believe if the party continues to drag feet on the issue the Sam 28 team will think otherwise which will be detrimental to the smooth and proper running of the party, which has prompted curious supporters to call on the relevant authorities to do the needful to avoid any future embarrassment.
“All what the party needs at this time is peace, unity and togetherness to take over governance come 2028,” some supporters are quoted to have said.
Dr. Samura on his side, the sources have told Parrot is still fighting for “his Electoral Justice” but without support from the party hierarchy, given that they consider the process as mere waste of time because such provision is not in the APC constitution. However, the wise bird has learned that if the old man fails in ‘his electoral justice’ fight; he might have a change of mind to team-up with whosoever to fight what he regarded as a common course.
The source further stated that, in certain areas of the country, people follow their leaders and not the party.
After having a lengthy discussion with some anxious APC members here in Freetown on this topical issue, the bird flew all the way to Kono to get the views of the Kono people. On arrival at Korquima at the outskirt of Koidu city, the bird was greeted with bashes especially from supporters of Chief Sam Sumana.
The first people Bra Parrot braved to speak with made it very clear that, they have to follow their son wherever he wants go if the APC fails to stop what they referred to as nonsense behaviour.
The bird also spoke to few women in the township and told him that they are all APC members but if the party fails to create a level playing field, they will have no option but to follow their son and brother.
The bird in his quest to have nationwide view on the developing situation, he also flew to Karene,
Bombali district the home of the man who is fighting for Electoral Justice Dr. Samura Kamara. For them, Dr. Samura has failed them but as they put it, ‘bad bush nor dae for troway bad pikin,’ meaning they will continue to stand by him, if he continues with the APC, but if for any reason he decides to move in any other direction they will decide what to do when the time comes.
When the bird came back from his tour, he made every effort to contact the two people but all his efforts failed.
Meanwhile, after his fruitless efforts to get the two bigwigs, the tireless bird was able to speak to few senior diehard APC members and supporters here in Freetown who did not hide their feelings to say, ‘we are not happy with the way things are going on in the party, we only hope that NAC will try to put proper mechanisms in order before the National Delegates Conference (NDC).
Meanwhile, as a peace loving citizen of this country, the bird is advising all parties concerned to allow democracy to work.
