Since the price of petroleum products were increased by the government, the most respected animal has been investigating to know whether petrol dealers will adhere to the government’s stipulated price of NLe27.40.
Following the bird’s investigation, it has been revealed that, the high cost of petroleum products in the country, have affected every other thing.
It is no secret that, the hardship today in the country cannot be unconnected with the high cost of fuel in the country.
The government price for petroleum products as per announcement was and still is NLe27.40 per liter.
This price has remained in place for a very long time now, thus causing the increase in prices of essential commodities for the common-man to easily purchase them.
Further investigations revealed that, some petrol stations in Freetown are very much patriotic and sympathizing with the people, by selling their products below the regulated prices.
Some of these fuel stations are mainly found in the east of the capital Freetown and currently selling their products at very reasonable prices compared to the government’s prices.
These fuel stations include Zara, Aminata, Leonco, Tesco, and Janneh who are presently selling fuel at NLe25,000 per liter below the government price of NLe27.40.
As the bird doesn’t know it all, he went out to get the views of sober minded people and most of them he came in contact with, expressed dismay over the government’s incompetence to subsidize fuel to help reduce the prevailing economic burden on the shoulders of the impoverished masses.
This present government, the people say, has no sympathy for them, but nevertheless, the patriotic will be in sympathy with his people in thick or thin.
