The Director General of the Sierra Leone Airport Authority (SLAA), Jack Massaquoi, confirmed that at least 265 airport staff have been paid benefits.
The DG made the submissions during a hearing at the Public Account Committee (PAC) at the Administrative Building in Parliament.
According to Massaquoi, the Turkish Summah Company is responsible for the payment of these workers.
He also talked about the impact caused on workers by the Summah Group after taking away their jobs previously done by these Sierra Leoneans at the Freetown Lungi Airport, adding that the odd jobs are now being done by the Summah Company, causing a deprivation and a loss of jobs to many Sierra Leoneans.
He said most of the old airport workers are now languishing without jobs.
He said service providers resort in going to court because their contract are yet to finish when Summah Group.
”The keys to twelve of offices at the airport could not be available to auditors,” meaning they are not in charge of those offices anymore.
“In the addendum at the agreement, Summah Group is to take care of all liabilities,” he said.

“Theft has been taking place at the airport,” Jack Massaquoi confesses.
He said most of the assets at the old airport have been moved to the new Turkish Company.
The manager said the embattled Turkish Company has been in control of every organ of the new airport and the only thing he is controlling now is the “air space.”
However, he also told the public Account Committee (PAC) that most of the queries being raised in the Auditor General’s Report have been addressed.
