The Wise Bird has been following the activities in the Honorable House of Parliament vis-à-vis on the roles the Speaker and Deputy are playing in order to bring peace and sanity in the House amongst Members of Parliament and non-members.

This is without prejudices that the two leaders in the House have shown their talents and quests for peace and harmony to prevail among members in the House.

The Deputy Speaker, who also doubles as Chairman of the Public Account Committee in Parliament Hon. Ibrahim T.Conteh, has been very instrumental in showing maturity and leadership qualities.

From what the Wise Bird has gathered as he was sitting in the Well of Parliament, the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Hon. Ibrahim T. Conteh has given an ultimatum to business entities to pay the GST taxes they owed government or they may face the full force of the law.

All those who have been following the writings of the Wise Bird know that, the bird is objective and straightforward as he   calls things by their correct and proper names.

The Deputy Speaker reiterated that most of the business entities still owe government some huge amount of monies.

He went further to say that, if they failed to comply with the orders of the committee, they will instruct their accounts be held up until they pay monies owed.

He also stated that, they as a committee, they are sure of getting all the monies owed by these business entities, and after payment, he said all receipts must be submitted to the committee for verification purposes and failing to do so, very serious action will be taken against all defaulters.

This is exactly what the Wise Bird would like to see and be done by those in authority. Sierra Leone today needs someone who stands by his/her words but not the one who’ll just give a lip service to the state and the people.

The Wise Bird is of the view that, vibrant leadership always goes with vibrant approach, and the public is always with the one who shows just this attribute.
