Augustine Williams, Sierra Leone international star, put on a fantastic show for Indy Eleven last night, by scoring a hat-trick to lead his squad to a dominant 4-0 victory over Miami FC at Carroll Stadium.
The forward’s three goals came in a scorching 13-minute of play in the second half, boosting his season total to eight.
Williams now sits second on the team’s scoring list behind Jack Blake.
With his impressive performance, Williams has moved into a tie to becoming a sixth all-timer in the USL Championship Top Ten list having 74 career goals. He is just one goal behind from surpassing his teammate Sebastian Guenzatti.
Augustine became the third player in Indy Eleven’s history to score a hat-trick, following the footsteps of Manuel Arteaga and Eamon Zayed. The team’s four-goal outburst in the second half lead to a record set. Jack Blake opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 62nd minute, marking his sixth successful penalty kick of the season. Goalie Hunter Sulte recorded one save and earned his seventh clean sheet of the year.
Football lovers at home are expecting Williams to be part of the Leone Stars lineup against Ivory Coast in their upcoming AFCON2025 qualifications in October.
