Inspector Joshua Moisa attached to the criminal investigation department (CID) headquarters has informed newsmen at the weekly police press conference on Tuesday 21st, February, 2023 that they are having in their custody one Ibrahim Barrie of No.7 Cole Street, Goderich who was reportedly arrested with US$20,000 counterfeit notes.

According to the report, Ibrahim Barrie of No.7 Cole Street, Goderich was about to deposit the fake $20,000 into his foreign account at the United Bank of Africa (UBA) on Monday 13th February, 2023 when he was arrested by the resident control officer of the United Bank of Africa, Abu Bakarr Bangura assisted by PC 2049 Aminata Kamara.

According to the report, the suspect told the police that he had a business transaction with one alias Jazz whom he said gave him the fake twenty thousand dollars, adding that the counterfeit notes has been sent to the Bank of Sierra Leone to ascertain whether they are genuine legal tender.
