Forty years old Sylvester Musa alias Sylvester Amara, a nurse made his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No.8 on two count charges to wit larceny by servant, contrary to 17 (i) of the Larceny Act of 1916 and fraudulent conversion of property, contrary to section 20 (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 26th April 2025 at Pujehun Government Hospital, in the Pujehun judicial district the southern province in Freetown, stole seventy six cartons and thirty three boxes of assorted free healthcare medical drugs being a storekeeper at the Pujehun Government Hospital Pujehun town.
In count two that on the above date and place the accused person stole seventy six cartons and thirty three boxes of assorted free healthcare medical drugs, property of the Hospital which were entrusted to him for the purpose of safekeeping, which he fraudulently converted to his own use or benefits.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, no plea taken.
The prosecutor Inspector Aminata Korio sought for a short adjournment date for her to lead her first witness.
The accused was not legally represented.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Samura refused bail based on the seriousness of the offence charged and sent the accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown and matter adjourned to 25th June, 2025.
