President Rtd. Brig Julius Maada Bio on Thursday 13th April, 2023 received the August 10, 2022 Special Investigation Committee Report in relation to the insurrection which took place in the East of Freetown and other parts of the country that left scores of citizens including police personnel dead and badly injured.
According to the executive summary, the insurrection was well-planned, organized financed as it was mainly geared towards destroying government properties; undermining the peace and tranquility of the State of Sierra Leone as perpetrators were calling for the removal of the democratically elected President Julius Maada Bio.
The report also confirmed that arrests were made, however based on intelligent information gathered by Africa24 newspaper; certain key players including the Deputy Organizing Secretary for the East-Urban District of the unpopular protest-People’s Power in Politics (PPP), Ishmael Jalloh a public servant was not among those that were arrested.
The role of public servants in the political landscape of Sierra Leone is supposed to be apolitical. The ethical code of the public service is to serve the State and any contrary action can be detrimental to your service and life. Ishmael Jalloh, Africa24 newspaper investigative team discovered has been on subversive movements against the State of Sierra Leone due to his clandestine connection with PPP.
According to credible sources monitored by Africa 24 newspaper, Ishmael as Organizing Secretary of PPP played significant role in orchestrating protests against the State for which he stands accused. It is prohibited for any public servant working for government and receiving salary from tax payers’ money to meddle into the politics of Sierra Leone. Many people who know Ishmael were left perturbed as they could hardly believe; a public servant could have the temerity of undermining the very government that pays him.
Our investigation further disclosed that, Ishmael despite working for government has been secretly leaking classified sensitive government information to the hierarchy of PPP which has a wider audience and network in Sierra Leone that has wreak havoc, destabilizing the State on several occasions.
People’s Power in Politics (PPP), our sources went on is being remote controlled by a renowned social media commentator nick named ‘Adebayor’ residing in Holland whom authorities in Freetown accused of machinating all the unrest against the State alongside his co-collaborators like Ishmael Jalloh.
Adebayor, who is presumably the command center or head of PPP has a large following across Sierra Leone, his audios messages are taken seriously by his patient listeners who are always and ever ready to cause mayhem whenever he calls upon them for any protest action against the State and has ordered many unrest in Sierra Leone.
Protesters on that fateful day on August 10,2022 were chanting, ‘Maada must Go’ as according to them the economic hardship had taken a downward spiral on their lives, especially the youths who claimed that they have become jobless because of the Bio’s government inability to create job opportunities.
They further stated that due to the appalling economic hardship most of them have resorted into armed robbery and drug addiction as majority cannot afford one square meal a day.
The protesters accused the President of many human rights violations and that since he assumed the reigns of governance there has been countless killings mostly in places like Makeni, Lunsar, Tombo Mile 91, Tonko Limba in Kambia district and Freetown.
However, since the publication of the report by the Special Investigation Committee, the whereabouts of Ishmael Jalloh is unknown; but sources confided in the Africa24 newspaper that due to the pivotal role he played over the years in orchestrating unrest against the State he must have concealed himself in an isolated location.
Those that were arrested for rioting against the State are still languishing in undisclosed locations across the country. An action that is deemed has total human rights violation since they have not been charged to court, and family members are in total distress to get access to their loved ones.
