The Wise Bird has noticed that even though Dr. Samura Kamara is facing pressure for him to step aside as his deputy did. He is still reluctant to do so, maybe from advice by his own supporters.

On his address to the nation, on the first anniversary of the Agreement for National Unity, the former leader and Flag-bearer as they call him now of the main opposition APC party said a lot more.

Dr. Samura did all he could to put ideas together by way of talking to people to see reason for unity in the party, bur from what the bird gathered all have fallen on deaf ears.

What exactly was not clear was in his address he did not make mention as to whether he will be ready to step aside or not.

The brave bird went to the APC party office to get the views of party members, supporters and sympathizers on the position of Dr. Samura whether he is still regarded as leader of the party.

The bird however, got mixed reactions on the issue, those supporting Dr. Samura said he is still the legitimate leader of the party and he will continue until 2026 when another National Delegate Conference will be held.

Those on the other side said, Dr. Samura’s mandate as leader has expired since December 2023 according to Article 47 of the party’s Constitution.

According to them, Article 47 states that: when a candidate contested and lost an election, the said candidate should hold the position for up to six (6) month after which he is no more the leader of the party.

The brave bird stands to be corrected on this as the quotation is not his but those he contacted.

What beats the imagination of the most respected was that, when some supporters of Dr. Samura came out in the open to tell the brave bird that, if the leader is forced to leave office, they will be left with no alternative but to advise Dr. Samura to form his own political party.

The bird bow his head in shame to have heard members of the APC saying such, it is now clear that, the APC is not ready to unite themselves for the 2028 elections.

The bird will be sitting on a tree watching the game.
