After their vital 3-1 victory against Guinea, the Sierra Queens goalkeeper Hannah Juana was named the Woman of the Match award for her key contributions.
Though, Juliet Brima opened the scoring in the 65th minute, setting the stage for a dominant finish. The Sierra Queens sealed the win with two more goals, demonstrating resilience after their earlier setback. The win revives Sierra Leone’s hopes in the tournament after a 3-0 loss to Gambia in their first group match.
Before the tournament, they underwent an intensive training camp in Guinea, where head coach Ernest Hallowell praised the squad’s discipline and determination.
With this victory, Sierra Leone keeps its semifinal hopes alive in Group B. The Queens will look to maintain momentum in their remaining fixtures as they aim to advance in the competition.
