Even though the euphoria that plunged the entire city into a total pandemonium has gradually subsided, yet, the hysteria is still raging amongst thousands of dwellers who fumed that their lives are not totally safe because no one know their next plan.
Most terrible and scaring is when the national armory was invaded by the attackers and carted away with some very dangerous weapon. This unfortunate scenario has heightened the fear that those who escaped are more dangerous to this state that any patriotic citizens should not only ponder over it but should indulge in an over whelming vigilance to save our only Mama Salone.
Really more serious than ever is when the premise of what has in recent days visibly manifested into a catastrophe that married the nation on that awful Sunday morning had long blossomed and it was crystal to even the smallest creature in this country that we are on a time bomb for serious national upheaval. But regrettably nothing significant has ever been done to convince the populace that it will not reel in the not distance future.
Reading from the past, many sober minded Sierra Leoneans are still recalling the various national unrests that have instantaneously happened in many areas in the country including Tombo, Lunsar, Makeni and the dreadful August 10th massacre in the city that still dawdles in minds of concerned citizens in this country. All these have exacerbated more fear in people to beg the question what will happen next if similar buff reaction is given to this most serious and dangerous occurrence that has put many concerned citizens into oblivion. For now, many people are patiently waiting to see the reaction of President Bio and his government which will serve as an antidote to alley their fear. Many people have express their opinion on social media and other news out lets while some have verbally murmured in their corners as they are curiously waiting our President’s reaction this time if he will set a very resolute and sober example that will not only put fear in the perpetrators but will deter any other attempt or intention from any other quarter.
The most unfortunate situation is that many Sierra Leoneans are hugger- mugger to their political parties and tribes than the nation as they are highly intrigued to them and adore them more than any other thing in their lives. The stark reality is until Sierra Leoneans realize that the country is bigger than political parties and tribes for which we should put country first than all of them, we will continue to be divided on these minute lines which will serve as stagnation to national cohesion and development in all sphere.
