Bra Parrot has been following the activities of the Inter-Religious Council for Sierra Leone and the way and manner they have been handling national issues.

After sounding the views of a good number of Sierra Leoneans, the brave bird was able to understand that, never in the history of Sierra Leone has the council been able to put any national crisis to rest by way of mediation between two opposing or aggrieved parties.

The reason the brave bird has in mind is that, almost all those in the Council are not only members or supporters of political parties but they are also party card carriers.

From the findings of the brave bird, even the Chairman of the Council is allegedly a party card carrier of one of the political parties in the country. And if the allegation levied against the Chairman is anything to go by, then how can such a Chairman transparently without bias mediate whenever the party he supports involves in a questionable issue? The truth is, he can set blind eyes on the truth.

During the process of sounding the views of people, the brave bird was reliably informed that, all the killings, harassments and or victimizations of the Main Opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) Party and other political parties the Inter-Religious Council did very little or nothing at all to save the day.

The brave bird visited offices, institutions, Churches and Mosques to get the views of people in relation to the functions of the Council, what the wise bird got from people is nothing to write home about the Council.

In fact, Bra Parrot over-heard some people referring to some members of the Council as square pegs in a round hole, and went further to suggest that, if the Council is receiving money (ies) from the government, that should stop forthwith because the Council does not worth its salt to say the least about them.

The brave bird went to a particular Church to get more about the Council, but it would have even better the brave bird did not attempt that because the information he got from the religious house was not good to put on paper.

Bra Parrot even over-heard some people saying that, some of the members in the Council were seen in their party meetings during campaign time and further claimed, the Council is as dormant and quiet as a grave yard.

It was also alleged that, almost all the members in the Council have affiliations with political parties and they are cads carriers, that is more the reason none of them (Council members) have the courage to stand in front of the President or Minister to tell him/her the truth to his/her face.

The brave bird will categorically say that, all the members in the Inter-Religious Council are very hypocritical in doing what they’re supposed to have done in the best interest of Mama Salone.

Bra Parrot also noticed that, the Council has always been very quiet since its formation, never in the history of the Council have they mediated on any crisis in Sierra Leone that is of national interest.

The question the people are asking is that, if the Council cannot put a crisis to rest, then there is no need its existence least to sit at the detriment of tax payers’ money.
