Of late, the wise bird has been getting persistent and disturbing calls and messages from the general public trying to enquire whether it is true that, the Army, Police and Prisons have gone for months without rice supply. This situation is scary.

After a week or so of his investigations it was revealed that, the news about the non-supply of rice to the security sector is correct, accurate and has all the elements of truth.

According to information, the Ministry of Finance that is responsible for the disbursement of funds to pay rice suppliers who supply these three institutions has deliberately failed to do so which has resulted for them not receiving supply for a period allegedly between four (4) and nine (9) months.

This situation, according to reports, has made it very difficult for these officers’ wives to manage their homes.

Meanwhile, Bra Parrot has gathered that the matter has already been brought to the attention of the Adviser to the President together with the supervising Ministries of those institutions.

The attention of the bird was also drawn to the issue that, two major rice suppliers have confirmed the allegation that, the government owes them huge amount of monies.

At the moment the report says, discussions are ongoing at higher government level to amicably resolve the problem without further delay.

As usual, the bird sounded the views of a lot of people, who expressed dismay over the situation.

Some stated that, the supply of rice to security personnel should be taking with all the seriousness it deserves.
