Office Assistant Ibrahim Massaquoi, 31, made his first appearance before Magistrate Patrick Fofanah of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges to wit office breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the larceny Act 1916 and arson contrary to section 3 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence, on Tuesday 29th April, 2025 at #1 Railway Line Brookfields in the western area of Freetown with intent to steal broke and entered into the National Monitoring and Evaluation Agency’s office sever room and stole therein twenty one black colour 56 lite Samsung galaxy tablet each valued twelve thousand leones all to the total value of two hundred and sixty four thousand leones (264,000) property of National Monitoring and Evaluation Agency whilst in custody of Eshaka Massaquoi.
Count two further stated that on the same date and place the accused person maliciously set fire on the National Monitoring and Evaluation Agency’s office sever room with intent to damage properties.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, no plea was taken.
The prosecutor Inspector Kadie M. Taylor sought for a short adjournment date because her witness was absent.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fofanah refused bail based on the seriousness of the allegation charged against the accused person and matter adjourned to 4th June, 2025.
