Bra Parrot has been a very good friend of Medical people and by extension all workers in all hospitals in the country, because of the nature of work they do by way of saving the lives of people particularly children who are the future leaders of tomorrow.
Of late, the brave bird has not been very comfortable with happenings in some of the hospitals, particularly at the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) at Fourah Bay Road, Eastern of the capital, Freetown.
Bra Parrot was perching at a tree around Moa-Wharf, when the brave bird overheard some people talking about how the security personnel inside the compound who are busy making money(s) by way of collecting charges from drivers parking their Kekehs, Okadas and private vehicles.
Bra Parrot was fortunate to talk to one of the workers at the hospital who declined to give his name for security reasons, he said drivers usually came late at night to park their vehicles and pay first thing in the morning before collecting whatever.
According to what the brave bird got, was that, some of the senior workers know about the deal. Even the government vehicles sometimes find it very difficult to have a parking space at night.
Many a time, patients find it very difficult to sleep at night because of the late coming of some of the vehicles with their noises in the compound.
Bra Parrot tried to contact the Matron-in-Charge of the hospital, each time, the securities at the gate will not allow the brave bird, so the brave bird had to fly back to Moa-Wharf, its temporal seating place.
However, PCMH is not a public parking space, only Ambulances, Doctors’ vehicles and other government vehicles are allowed to be parking in the compound.
Sometimes, the securities at the gate are very arrogant with pregnant women and lactating mothers.
The brave bird will continue to monitor the situation in the hospital.
