The Sierra Leone national female team Sierra Queens has secured a semifinal place in the ongoing WAFU A Woman’s tournament with a 3-1 crucial victory over Guinea and a tough 1-1 draw against Senegal last Monday.
Meanwhile, Sierra Queens are on the crossover of a potential finals berth in the 2025 WAFU Zone A Women’s Cup as they prepare for a decisive match ahead.
They were in Group B with four points, having scored four goals conceding five, while Group leaders Senegal, with a perfect seven points from three matches have already secured qualification for the semis.
The draw against Senegal was vital for the Sierra Queens, but their progression will also depend on the outcome of their semifinal showdown.
Sierra Queens entered this high-stakes match with renewed confidence following a crucial 3-1 victory over Guinea in their previous outing. This win revitalized their hopes after an initial 3-0 defeat to Gambia in their opening group game.
