Since the government launched its landmark Free Quality School Education Program in 2018, Sierra Leone has made significant gains in school enrolments thus doubling the figures.
Before FQE’s introduction, education outcomes and skills acquisition were among the lowest ranked in Africa.
The education sector also had faced deep inequalities in access, weak governance sector, and inefficient public spending and management.
The FQE has helped in addressing these challenges as well as supporting the Government of Sierra Leone.
Other non-governmental organizations and private individuals have also been helping in making sure that government’s FQE initiative achieves its desired outcomes.
Hon. Abdul Muniru Lansana and David Abu Bangura are among those sharing such vision.
During the presentation of the 25 teachers at the St Theresa Primary school in the eastern part of Freetown, Hon. Abdul Muniru Lansana said the teachers were chosen as a result of their dedication.
