In an ongoing alleged high murder case involving Prince Thomas alias Chair Sharkur a thirty one year old driver, Christian Omotunde Aitkins, a fifty six year old teacher and Marion Conteh was again arraigned before Magistrate Adama Kandeh of Pademba Road Court No.2 on four count charges.
They were arraigned for conspiracy to murder contrary to section 4 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861, conspiracy to murder contrary to law, murder, contrary to section 1 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by section 1 (a) to the Schedule of the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act 2021, act No.6 of 2022 and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, contrary to section 18 of the Offences Against the Persons Act of 1861.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons, no plea was taken.
According to the particulars of offence, on Saturday 22nd March, 2025 at Dalley Street, Regent village in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, conspired together with other persons unknown to murder Momodu Bangura.
Count two revealed that the accused on the same date and place conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime.
Count three furthered that Thomas alias Chair Sharkur on the same date and place, murdered Momodu Bangura.
In count four, all the accused on the same date and place, wounded Ibrahim Sorie Sankoh with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
The State prosecution 8811 Wilson F.M.J. led in prosecution witness Detective 18127 Constable Fadima Kamara attached to the Scientific support unit at the Central Police Station and recalled on Friday 28th March, 2025, himself and colleague Detective Sergeant Marcarthy 10601 witnessed an autopsy examination on the remains of one Momodu Bangura at the Connaught Mortuary.
Fadima revealed that the autopsy examination was conducted by the forensic Pathologist Officer Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma and team. He said that during the examination, due to emergency and delay, he used his IPhone x to make sample of photos in prove of his collection and the deceased relatives.
After the completion of the examination, a certificate was given by the Pathologist Dr Koroma. He later developed the pictures into analysis the IPhone showed and marked as Exhibit ‘L.’
Photographs showed, produced and tendered marked as “Exhibit LL–29”. That’s all.
The witness was cross examined by the Defense Counsel J.M. Jengo
Meanwhile, Magistrate Kandeh refused because of the seriousness of the offences charged and sent them to remand in the male correctional center in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to the 3rd June 2025 for further proceedings.
