In the shadows of Sierra Leone’s tumultuous political landscape, a beacon of hope emerged in the form of Sia Esther Chame Momoh, the adopted daughter of one politician who goes by the name Mr Ken Momoh a fearless human rights activist dedicated to advocating for the marginalized and oppressed.
Africa24 Newspaper has discovered that Esther’s unwavering commitment to addressing pressing social issues such as teenage pregnancy, human rights violations, gender-based violence (GBV), and governance failures made her a formidable force for change in her homeland.
However, Esther’s noble and reputable efforts were met with hostilities and persecutions from the very authorities entrusted with upholding justice. Accused of instigating violent protests on the fateful day of August 10, 2022, which tragically resulted in loss of lives and destruction of government property’s, Esther found herself branded as a fugitive by the government she sought to hold accountable.
Forced to flee her beloved country to escape the clutches of oppressions and false accusations, Esther Chame Momoh now stands as a symbol of resilience and defiance against tyranny. Her absence echoes loudly in the corridors of power, reminding all that the pursuit of justice and equality cannot be silenced by fear or intimidation.
As we reflect on Esther’s courageous journey and the sacrifices she made in the name of justice, let us not forget her unwavering spirit and dedication to a better Sierra Leone. May her story inspire others to continue the fight for human rights, social justice, and good governance for the needy, even in the face of adversity and persecution at the moment.
Esther Chame Momoh may be a fugitive in the eyes of some, but in the hearts of many, she remains a hero and a champion for change. At present, she is in fear to return in her native country due to many pressures and the huge awareness role she has been planning regarding human rights and holding the incumbent government on service delivery and good governance.
