The Wise Bird was very disgusted when he went to the Capital City Freetown and saw that, the City was virtually empty and quiet like a war zone.

The bird starts to think as to what was the reason for the City to be empty, when everybody was supposed to be at work or doing their usual businesses on a Wednesday mid-week.

What the Wise Bird noticed was that, the people of this country very much relied on rumors and speculations, the question of sit at home, has been in the public domain for weeks and tension keeps on mounting on a daily basis without the government doing anything.

After a deep breath by the Wise Bird he came to the ultimate conclusion that, government is directly responsible for the present situation in the country.

The Wise Bird can without hesitation say that, the government has the responsibility to dispelled rumors of any kind through the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, but the Ministry has not done enough by way of educating the masses.

It is no secret that, the Ministry of Information and Civic Education is the mouth piece of the government, but from the look of things, nothing done by the Ministry to avert the current impasse.

If, and only if the people were properly informed and well educated in respect of the rumors around town, the whole thing should have been killed at birth but the rumors were allowed to over shadow the mouth piece of the government.

There is a saying that, there is no smoke without fire, the government did not take the rumors seriously, and this is the result of their careless yesterday.

The August 10th incident should have rang a bell to the ears of the government, but they failed to listen to the sound of the bell.

The Wise Bird went out to sound the views of people in respect of the Wednesday’s sit at home, all those the Wise Bird contacted expressed disappointment on the side of the government for failing to act immediately the rumor was out to the public, government should take all rumors with the utmost seriousness the people said.

Some of the people said the government must always be proactive at every given time to save the lives of the people; government was not proactive at all the people say.

 According to what the Wise Bird has gathered, the Ministry of Information and Civic Education has failed the government and by extension the people of this country to the extent that, lives were lost on the August 10th and more lives should have gone yesterday, if not with the intervention of PA-PA GOD.
