In the forthcoming 2025 WAFU A&B U-20 Boys sub-regional tournament, the Sierra Leone’s national junior football team, the Shooting Stars have been placed in Group C which will be held in Ghana from June 15 to 30, 2025.
The draw in Ivory Coast sees the Shooting Stars facing strong competition from Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Benin. This year’s tournament is notable as it marks the first joint competition for teams from both WAFU Zone A and Zone B, serving as the qualifying stage for the TotalEnergies Africa U20 Cup of Nations (AFCON).
A total of 13 countries will participate, including Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Mali, Liberia, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Nigeria and the host nation Ghana.
