A bike rider has pardoned 12 co-biker riders in connection to a riotous conduct that happened at Labour ministry.
Sajoh Jalloh, Abubakar Mansaray, Alie Daddy Mansaray, Ibrahim Young Koroma, Hassan Sowa, Amidu Tholley, Mohamed Gbla, Nat Sheik Ansumana, Smith Karim Kamara, Alhassan Gbla, Sheik Alhaji John Sober and John Karim Kamara were the accused bike riders who made their first appearance before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown.
They were standing on four count charges, one is for wit assault occasioning actual bodily harm, for riotous conduct, for disorderly behavior and for throwing missiles.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 24th April 2024 at New England Ville in Freetown, the men assaulted one Patrick Gbatilo Kpaka and Abdul Aziz in a manner described as occasioning actual bodily harm.
And on count two, the accused persons on the above date and place behaved in a riotous manner and on count three the accused persons on the above date and place did behave in a disorderly manner, while on count four the accused persons on the above date and place were found throwing missiles at Patrick Gbatilo Kpaka, Abdul Aziz, Mustapha and at some police personnel of the Central division.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons they pleaded not guilty.
When the matter was mentioned, the prosecutor told the bench that the complainant Patrick Gbatilo Kpaka; the Regional Secretary at the Bike Riders Association wanted to intimidate the court with something.
The complainant further told the bench that he was not calling for case anymore.
Meanwhile Magistrate Kekura discharged the matter as pursuant to section 94 of the Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965 and Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai prosecuted the matter.
