Investigations conducted at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country planning, has indicated that the Minister Dr. Turad Senesie, has gone on vacation in an undisclosed destination leaving piles of unsigned documents giving cause for an influx of visitors to enquire about the states of their documents.
Reliable sources say the Minister has not given directives to his Deputy Minister as the latter is expected to have signed on former’s behalf. Officials say the Minister has given directives to his professional staff that all documents pertaining the Ministry must be brought to his attention before final approval. Reports further said that the professional and administrative sectors have been assiduously at working on the several piles of documentations which have been processed but awaiting the Minister’s approval. But he is reportedly not around.
Reports say it is still not known whether specific vacations are accorded to Cabinet members if not for health reasons. Reports say the Minister has not indicated his purpose of travelling at such a crucial time when the Performance Contract which is lately required by the president and is hanging on each and every ministers’ necks.
Interviews conducted have indicated of many visitors expressing disappointments over the absence of the Lands Minister.
Most of them have noted that lands documentation delays are a virus at the Ministry even at a point when the Minister is at home (Sierra Leone) and worse so more when he is absent from the country. Reports say the divisional directors are committed to doing their work but there are fears that tension might arise soon from the general public.
