Momoh Kamara scored his first goal in American football on his debut for Minnesota United FC 2, helping his side secure a 2–1 victory over Colorado Rapids 2 in the MLS Next Pro League.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who recently joined from Sierra Leone’s Mattia FC, made an instant impact after coming off the bench, calmly finishing in the 72nd minute to level the match before Minnesota clinched the win.
Kamara just days earlier made his first appearance for the club against LAFC2, and his quick rise and confidence on the ball have already begun to draw attention, particularly from fans of the Sierra Leone national team, where Kamara previously impressed at youth level including a memorable hat-trick against Egypt at the 2024 U-20 AFCON qualifiers.
As Minnesota United 2 continued their campaign, the young midfielder will look to build on this breakthrough moment and solidify his place in the squad.
