The Director of Operations for the Sierra Leone police, Assistant Inspector General Mohamed Brima Jah, has stated during the weekly police press briefing on Tuesday 7th March, 2023 that they will soon embark on joint military and police deployment ahead of the June 24th, 2023 three-tier elections.
AIG Brima Jah said the joint military and police deployment will start from Waterloo where he said a huge number of military and police personnel will be stationed, adding that these military and police personnel will be scattered in every corner of the country including the western urban and rural areas.
AIG Brima Jah called on citizens to be law abiding and assured the public of weeding out the unlawful, take them to court and be relocated.
He stated that the police is preparing robustly ahead of the polling day and stated that law abiding citizens have nothing to fear and should continue going about their normal routine, adding that those who choose to disturb the electioneering process will not be part of the polling day.
AIG Brima Jah advised citizens to be law abiding, peaceful and to go about their daily works without disturbing others.
