The presidential candidate for the strong main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party has during his recent campaign tour in Moyamba stated in our local Krio language that “norto banner dea win election,” meaning that posters of presidential candidates are not responsible for winning an election but how well the government has served the people will let the people vote for them.
Addressing supporters in Moyamba, Southern province, Dr. Samura Kamara said that most of his banners are being torn by members of the ruling SLPP, adding that political intimidations is on high spate which he described as very appalling for the country’s democracy.
He said the incumbent president Mr. Maada Bio should let his previous works sell him to the people as he prefers “Do and Tok” to “Tok and Do”.
The APC Presidential hopeful said that president Bio should not be a worry man if he knows he truly served the people during his term of office while stating in Krio that “way you wok dem go memba you”.
He made reference to the US President Donald Trump whom he said served for one term only as it is going to be the case with President Bio.
According to the two times APC flagbearer, fixing the economy depends on the market women and men because they control the economy and they are responsible to feed the country and, he said that a president who has molested such people should not continue to stay in power.
He said the SLPP party has reduced their jobs for youth from two million jobs to five hundred thousand jobs and stated that government is not responsible for huge employment but the private sector and that is why when he assumed power he will strengthen the private sector for more recruitment.
Dr. Samura Kamara made emphasis that the private sector is what controls the economy, adding that contracts of members of the APC were terminated by the current system which he said is political intolerance “ you werr red o, green or white we ol na wan salone,’’ he averred.
