The Speaker of the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone, Hon Segepoh Solomon Thomas has officially announced the death of late Hon. Musa Peter Moigua, former representative of Kenema District, eastern region of Sierra Leone.
He has therefore declared his seat vacant and ordered the Clerk Parliament to communicate same to the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone for his instantaneous replacement as provided for in the Proportional Representation System.
Late Hon Musa Peter Moigua, was the Organizing Secretary for the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
Born on December 9, 1972, in Blama, Kenema District, Hon. Moigua was a distinguished accountant and finance manager with an MBA, BSc in Accounting and Finance, HND in Accounting, and ND in Accounting and Finance.
Elected to Parliament in 2018, Hon. Moigua served in four key parliamentary committees: Public Accounts, Planning and Economic Development, Tertiary Education, and Fisheries and Marine Resources. Known for his dedication to grassroots development, he prioritized community centers, water and sanitation, road construction, and improved educational and medical facilities—particularly for pregnant women—in his constituency.
