The Wise Bird listened to both local and international news at all time, and reads newspapers and watches Television (TV) on a daily basis to be properly acquainted himself with issues of the day.
The most respected animal is so much loved by the people because he always brings out important issues that the general public will want to hear.
The brave bird was listening to a popular radio station when he overheard the most respected ACC Boss Francis Ben Kaifala explaining the role of Honorable Ibrahim Tawa Conteh as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in Parliament.
In his presentation, he made certain utterances that did not go down well with a cross section of the people.
But since the people have confidence in the Wise Bird he starts getting persistence calls and messages from them demanding to know the true story on the issue.
The ACC Boss described the Audit report as a professional document and that, ACC sees the report as a whistle blower, adding that, Parliament and ACC are working hand-in-hand in the interest of the State.
The report, he said, is made for the attention of Parliament, and the position of the ACC is, as long as it deals with corruption then ACC can come in, but the way Parliament is approaching the issue is wrong, he said.
The issue, he went on, is not about power or monopoly it is what the institutions could do together for the country.
The ACC Boss further stated in his presentation that, Hon. Tawa had been holding public meetings telling people not to present whenever they are called by the ACC on the Audit report.
What beats the imagination of the Wise Bird was when he referred to the Public Accounts Chairman as doing what he called “PARLIAMENTARY GANGSTERISM ALL OVER THE PLACE”.
The ACC Boss said ACC as an institution is not subjected to the control of anybody or institution.
Hon. Tawa presents ACC as if the institution is just like EDSA or EPA.
However, the ACC Boss outlined four agencies that are not subjected to interference: the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Auditor-General’s office, Human Rights Commission, and the Ombudsman’s Office.
What again the brave bird was not pleased with is when the ACC Boss said the Public Accounts Chairman has to “RE-VIEW HIS UNDERSTANDING OF THE ADMINSRATIVE WORKS”.
ACC is given the mandate to look into anywhere where there is corruption but he said, Hon. Tawa has been attacking the ACC on a daily basis.
In fact Hon. Tawa did not tell which account he had paid all the monies he claimed to have collected because there are about 100 accounts hold by government.
He further stated that, Hon. Tawa claimed to be the number four (4) man in the country.
That the ACC Boss said he had not seen in his years of practice as a lawyer.
