From the look at things, the National Grand Coalition (NGC) party is now in  disarray and shambolic manner as much of its top financiers and big wigs of the party have tendered their letters of resignation just after the party held its National Delegates Conference (NDC) where the now former Chairman and Leader Dr. Dennis Bright was re-elected as Chairman.

The party’s delegates conference ended in fracas and court petitions as one of the contenders for the party’s leadership Mr. Joseph Maada Kpulun did not accept the outcome of the result at the NDC, stating that there were lot of anomalies. He went on to accuse one of the co-founders of the NGC Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella of being a loyalist and financier to Dr. Dennis Bright whom he said the former showed his unflinching support during the NDC.

The party which was formed ahead of the 2018 Presidential election by political migrants from the ruling SLPP party has now gone into oblivion as talks of the party contesting the forthcoming polls have been rendered as hopeless and useless. There is high pessimism among the general citizenry that NGC will not be able to join the other parties for the upcoming Presidential race because the party have now been financially amputated and therefore will not resist to the see the light at the end of the tunnel as most of the party’s top financiers have tendered their letters of resignations from both the party and their respective elected positions.

The first to denounce and made public his resignation from NGC is the sole owner of the party Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella whom many have viewed as highly deceptive with sweet tongue. Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella has been described by some political analysts as quixotic because he is not talking and doing.

The denouncement of KKY from the NGC sparked angry conversation among his loyalists and supporters who are now criticizing their leader for bringing down what he has spent his time and money to nurture.

Second to follow the path of KKY is the former Chairman and Leader of NGC, Dr. Dennis Bright who has recently tendered his resignation letter as Chairman and Leader and as member of the party. Dr.Bright’s resignation did not come as a surprise to many well thinking Sierra Leoneans who know that Dr. Dennis Bright is being remote controlled by KKY whom many says he is an inferior to the latter. Just after disturbing the peaceful, peace that was flowing within and among members of the NGC, Dr. Bright in connivance with Dr. Kandeh Yumkella cunningly rigged votes in their NDC in order that they will succeed in bringing the party into shambles.

Third to resign his seat and membership status is the National Western Regional Chairman, Arthur Pearce who made known his resignation to the general public. Chairman Arthur Pearce was deliberate to tell the Africa24 medium that he has tendered his letter of resignation to the party with core reasons for his resignation.

Some political think tanks have viewed the formation of the NGC as a manipulative tactics of the SLPP to disturb the voting patterns  of Kambians in the Northern region being the stronghold of APC to sail a smoothly  pathway for SLPP’s victory during the 2018 general elections.

Speaking to this medium via mobile phone interview, Arthur Pearce assured that he has resigned both his position and membership from the NGC party and that in his resignation letter he stated the core reasons for exiting the party.

Some Northerners especially Kambians from Kychom have registered their dissatisfaction and disappointment over the recent moves taken by Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella to resign from his own party and for being not true to his words.
