As things unfold, the Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB), has confirmed of a momentous changes ahead of the 2024/25 season, which is set to begin in Port Loko with an opening clash between the Cacao Boys from Kailahun and the Bai Bureh Warriors.
The season’s opening week promises exciting fixtures, including defending champions Bo Rangers facing Freetown City FC in the capital and Kamboi Eagles marking their return to the league against runners-up Bhantal FC.
Other notable matches in Week 1 will see FC Kallon hosting Wusum Stars, East End Lions squaring off against Bullom Stars Star Sports Academy battling Freetonians FC, Mighty Blackpool taking on Diamond Stars at the SLFA Academy, and Abacha City FC entertaining Wilberforce Strikers.
Meanwhile, 18 clubs will be competing in a two-round league format.
PLB has announced a major crisis shakeup: the bottom four clubs in the standings will be relegated to Division 1 at the end of the season.
