Gibrilla S Turay at number 1 Saint Paul’s Drive IMATT, Freetown, is standing trial on a private Criminal Summon on a count of fraudulent conversion as contrary to Section 20 (1) (4) (B) of the Larceny Act 1916.
He has been released on bail by the Principal Magistrate Shar Kekeura of the Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown for an alleged fraud of $45,000.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused on the 24th April 2022, at Youi Building in Freetown, he fraudulently converted one white Lexus Jeep 2018 model value forty five thousand United States dollars ($45,000) dollars entrusted to him by the complainant Michael Kamara for the purpose of sale which he converted to his own use.
When the indictments was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded not guilty.
Counsel representing the accused person Charles Abass Bangura applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person on his first appearance, and bail was granted.
Counsel representing the complainant Ibrahim S Y Kamara Esq. Esq sought for short adjournment.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura adjourned the matter to the 24th June 2024 for further proceedings.
