“Pay with Afrimoney and get Free Delivery” of Chicken Town foods is Africell’s latest mobile money message in Freetown.

The corporate branch of Africell, which is Sierra Leone’s leading telecoms, Afrimoney and Chicken Town reached a deal to get all products bought at Chicken Town by customers to be delivered at customers’ doorsteps freely.

The promotional services will start from Tuesday July 1st to July 30th this year.

Afrimoney’s Marketing Director, John Konteh, encourages those who don’t use or have Afrimoney account to subscribe for the service now.

He said creating a scope of a digital financial inclusion is Afrimoney’s dream in Sierra Leone and its branches across Africa and beyond.

Konteh said all over the world, countries are moving toward a cashless society with 2 billion people using mobile money transactions facilities with ease.

In Sierra Leone, a report in 2024 says there are about 100% usage and adoption rate by people using mobile money transactions in the capital Freetown in Western Area alone.

This is because, Konteh says, mobile banking or transactions through financial digital technologies is creating safety, convenience, a limit on a distance to be covered by people l.

“Imagine having to move as far as from Lumley to come at Railway Line to buy food at Chicken Town.That is too strenuous for a customer,” he said.

All you need now to do especially during July, which is known for more rains in Sierra Leone, is by booking your order for free through Afrimoney wallet code *161#.

Konteh said at least 2,000 people would have the chance to do orders at Chicken Town as part of their new partnership with the retail food company.

“If you have not registered yet with Afrimoney, do so now. There is a cashback of 10% if you pay your EDSA bill via Afrimoney,” says Afrimoney Marketing Director.

“We want customers at Chicken Town and Africell’s customers to utilize this service to the fullest,”adding that people only need to call up 392 through Africell  or scan code via partners’ mobile app to get to book in free of cost food deliveries sold by Chicken Town.

Chicken Town has several outlets in Urban Area Sierra Leone in places like: Railway Line at Brookfields, Lumley, Aberdeen, Wilberforce in Central of Freetown and at Jui.

Chicken Town promises its customers with Sweet Food with its slogan “Swit U Mot; Swit U Lyf’.

At its No.4 Railway Line branch, Chicken Town’s Manager Patricia Thomas said she was happy about the new partnership signed with Afrimoney.

“We are happy to be here to sign a free delivery partnership with Afrimoney for our customers.”

“Many of us like free services especially in the rainy season.”
