Reliable sources within the corridors of power in Freetown have indicated that after the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) delegates’ convention which will lead to electing the next national executive of the party there will be an imminent cabinet and institutional reshuffle.
This information has sparked significant unease among high-ranking government officials.
“Immediately after this convention many heads of institutions will roll. President Julius Maada Bio is about to carry out a reshuffle, which will include ministers and other political appointees,” sources claimed.
The anticipation of this bold move by President Bio has also sent shockwaves throughout the upper echelons of government who are now jittery.
Currently, information stated, some cabinet ministers and some appointees are not in favour of the decision by the President in electing party’s executive for the 2028 general elections.
Such unholy move by these officials has angered not only the President but the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Supporters of Fatima Bio have disclosed to this medium that, they see this time as a payback to the President and his wife after they have helped the SLPP rise from grass to grace.
“But other appointees are in the corner backbiting the ambitious plans being set by President Bio and wife. This system of how government appointees behave has not only angered the powers that be; but the grassroots of the party” one Thomas Brima stated.
He said even someone helped Sierra Leoneans to grow there iare always people undermining the head of state plans.
This unusual behavior has heightened fears among those who feel their positions may be at risk, as they interpret the President’s silence as a sign of impending change.
It is no secret that President Bio has become increasingly disillusioned with the performance of some of his appointees. Despite their touted qualifications and expertise, many have failed to deliver the results expected of them, much to the President’s disappointment.
