If a release doing the rounds on social media is anything to go by then, it can be said without hesitation that one of the bigwigs of the main opposition All people’s Congress (APC) has withdrawn his unwavering support he once gave his party leader Dr. Samura Kamara.

In that unverified statement released yesterday purportedly by Mr. Sidi Yayah Tunis, Publicity Secretary of the APC did not state any clear reason for his decision to abandon Dr. Samura Kamara whom he said he has served with all his heart, mind and sincerity, but insisted “I just do not think I can confidently say I am a part of what this group defines as “inner core or Team A,” a group believed to be protecting and promoting more of the interests of Dr. Samura than the APC they’re all supporting.

It is further claim in that statement that it was a pleasure for Mr. Tunis to have worked with all the members of the APC to realize the dream of Sierra Leoneans which he said he believes is to have a leader who will seek their interest and serve their interests. He added: “It is a dream I will continue to pursue and one I know Sierra Leoneans will realize God will send us that leader.”

Efforts to reach Mr. Tunis for confirmation of the issue proved fruitless as he refused to answer the several phone calls.
