The Chief Electoral Commissioner and National Returning Officer of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone, Mohamed Kenewui Konneh has yesterday Monday 26th June, 2023 announced 60% of the final results of the total valid votes casted on Saturday 24th, June, 2023 and has informed to announce the remaining 40% of the final results on Wednesday to determine the final outcome of the results and to whether determine if there is going to be a presidential run-off.
The Chief Electoral Commissioner has called on the Leaders of all political party to kindly wait and listen to the final announcement of the results of the total valid votes. He stated that nobody has the right to announce the final results unless him because the Sierra Leone’s 1991 Constitution accords him the full right and privilege to announce the results. Below is the 60% of result announced by Mohamed Kenewui Konneh.
According to the outcome of the 60% partial result announced, the incumbent president, Julius Maada Bio of the SLPP is currently leading opposition Leader and presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara of the APC by a margin of 283,917 (Two hundred and eighty three thousand, nine hundred and seventeen) of the valid votes casted.
