On Thursday July 3rd, President Bio received the eight months report of the National Revenue Authority, at his State House office.
The report which covers comprehensive reports on the many operational aspects of the Authority, left the President impressed by the work of the NRA under the astute leadership of the Commissioner General Mrs. Jeneba Kpaka Bangura backed by the Board Chairman Mr. Kabineh Kallon.
The President acknowledged the income generating function of the NRA for national development and urged them to work harder in order to meet and exceed targets.
The NRA has come under new management and leadership since last year and despite the challenges faced, they have been able to collect revenue for the government to undertake lots of programs aligned with President Bio’s Big Five agenda.
The Commissioner General Mrs. Jeneba Kpaka Bangura, a soft spoken but thorough financial manaagement guru, has been at the center of reforms at NRA. It is during her leadership that some reforms have taken place, significantly enabling the institution to generate more funds, whilst curbing corruption.
In a tweet late on Thursday President Bio commended the NRA’s progress in revenue mobilisation and encouraged them to pursue greater success.
