In about a year in office as Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority, Mrs. Jeneba Bangura has displayed deep knowledge and near mastery of the operations of the institution and the intricacies therein.

It is during her leadership that a major rackets has been unraveled involving NRA officials in collusion with some bank officials. Investigations into the syndicated pilfering of state funds are still ongoing, but it is becoming apparent that the country had been losing billions of leones, but the depth of knowledge of Mrs Jeneba Bangura and some dedicated staff has checked that and government revenue is set to improve.

In the latest discovery of loss of huge funds involving some NRA staff and bank officials, the Commissioner General has deviated from the normal practice of handing over the entire investigation to the ACC, with some walking  free, and has instead, interdicted the staff, alerted the police and ACC and conducting an indepth investigation in order to get to the bottom of the syndicate, break it completely and improve collection.

This move has been roundly applauded by some police officers who are saying it will make their work easier.
