Alex Blamoi Koffi who is 44 years old was again arraigned before magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 on three count charges of assault and for occasioning actual bodily harm.
The crimes are contrary to section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, Malicious Damage-Contrary to section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861 and Larceny- which is also contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1961.
According to the police charge sheet, the defendant was accused of that on Tuesday, 16th July
2024 at No 11 Willoughby Lane Brookfields, Freetown, assaulted Brima Sesay in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
Count two further indicated that on the same date and place above, the defendant maliciously damaged two (2)padlocks each valued twenty five Leones and are
(25) total valued fifty leones (50) as property of Brima Sesay.
Count three further said that on the same date and place above, he stole one human hair valued one thousand eight hundred leones (1,800), two drinking cups each valued thirty leones totaling sixty leones; with seven female jeans trouser each valued seventy Leones, all to a total of four hundred and ninty Leones, a foot wear
four ladies wears each valued two hundred and fiffty Leones with all a
total of one thousand leones (1,000); one passport book valued at two thousand five hundred Leones (2.500) and a fiscal cash of five thousand leones (5,000) all to the grand total of nine thousand and fiffty leones (9,350) which are properties of Brima Sesay.
When the charges were read and put to the accused person in court he pleaded not guilty.
The State Prosecutor Sergeant 3379 Ballay led in as witness and witness number four Balla Tejan Samura D P C 13217 Samura B. T attached exhibit, saying while at New England Police Station, he recalled on the 3rd day of August, 2024, as he was on on duty when DCP 18386 Sesay A. handed to him the following items in respect of this matter. The items include four human hair; a rope; a knife with a gray handle; a “Ghana must go” bag containing used clothes; thirteen used female foot wear; two small cups yellow and white; a parker of white substance suggested to be maggie; a green old carpet; a grinder; a blank old black bag, a black belt, a hand shiefer, and a dozen of cups.
Balla further said that he took custody of these exhibits and registered them in the exhibit registration book with serial number 27/2024 and they had since been in police custody as he hereby tender as follows:
The four human hair marked “Exhibit E1-4”; The rope marked “Exhibit F”; The knife marked “Exhibit G”: The “Ghana Must Go” Bag market “Exhibit H”; The female foot wear marked “Exhibit JI-13.” The two small assorted cups marked “Exhibit K1-2”.
The Parket of white substance marked “Exhibit L”; The green old Carpet marked “Exhibit M”; The grinding machine marked “Exhibit N”;The black old bag marked “Exhibit O”; The black belt marked
“Exhibit P”; The hand shifter marked Exhibit Q; and The dozen of crop marked” Exhibit L”. That all.
